2024/July – Performance with MusicDance project at c.e.m. in Lisbon together with percussionist Vintani Nafassi, coordinated by dancers Nicolle Vieira and Manuela Tessi.

2024/June – Video recording of a cuíca solo performance for Paco Utray and Luis Lamadrid’s project Videoacústica.

2024/June – Performance with artist Myst K. at Proyecto Morrison in Madrid. In this performance the sound of the Brazilian instrument “rói-rói” was processed live through effect pedals such as Mood and granular samplers.

2024/June – Solo performance with percussion and electronics at Frequencias Raras Festival de Musica Y Video Experimental – Espacio La Hipoteca, Madrid, Spain.

2023/May – Concert Gesto-Tempo. Performance with guitar and percussion instruments premiering the free improvisation group NILI – Núcleo de Improvisação Livre at Regina Vogue Theater, Curitiba. Together with Indioney Rodrigues, Ricardo Janotto, Machison Abreu, Mariah Kloss, Pietro, Ricardo Ferrari, and Sergio Freire.

2023/February –  1º desconcerto Festival de Improvisação Livre. Casa Luz del Fuego – Curitiba. Free improvisation solo performance using electric guitar and electronics.

2022/December – Performance Movimento – Som at Improviso Dança e Música of Casa Hoffmann – Center of Movement Studies with Amelu Clarindo, Indioney Rodrigues, Lucas Sequinel, Guilherme Guinski and dancers from Improviso Dança e Música.

2022/November – Free Improvisation performance with music and dance, together with musician Indioney Rodrigues, and dancers Mariah Kloss and Rodrigo Kavalkievicz at Devorar Modernismos (Departamento de Comunicação e Design) Universidade Federal do Paraná Curitiba (8/11/2022).

2022/May – Nine artistic laboratories on creative interactions between music and dance with musicians Indioney Rodrigues, Lucas Sequinel, Fabio Cadore, and dancers from UM Núcleo (FAP/UNESPAR).

2021/May – Remote performance of free improvisation with music and dance together with musicians Indioney Rodrigues, Lucas Sequinel, and dancers from Um Núcleo, coordinated by Rosemeri Rocha, FAP/UNESPAR, Curitiba.

2021/April – Four remote artistic laboratories on creative interactions between music and dance  with Indioney Rodrigues, Lucas Sequinel and Amelu Clarindo. Via App: Zoom.

MPB percussionist. Has performed as a percussionist for MPB groups in Curitiba since 2015 together with musicians Lucas Sequinel, Leon Adan, Joaquim Lima, Fernando Vahia, Diego Coelho, Renata Terra, Ana Vargas, Tiago Portella, Cesar Matoso etc.

Artistic and Professional Experience

(2024). Composed the piece Berra Boi Eletroacústico which was included in the digital album Miniaturas Eletroacústicas Mix-FOF-cv-bang!, produced by Núcleo Música Nova.

(2018, 2021, 2023) SIMN (Simpósio Internacional de Música Nova). Attended a week-long festival of New Music in Curitiba.

(2016 to 2023) Improviso Dança e Música, Curitiba. Worked as a music curator and performer at a monthly event for free improvisation with dance and music.

(2014 to 2023) Oficina de Música de Curitiba. Worked as an interpreter (English/Portuguese) for masterclasses of Ancient and Baroque Music.

(2016, 2018) FIPCuritiba – Festival Internacional de Percussão. Took workshops and worked as an interpreter at an international percussion festival. Gave pandeiro workshops to groups of children at the same festival in 2023.

(2014 to 2018) Oficina de Música de Curitiba. Attended pandeiro workshops with renowned percussionists such as Bernardo Aguiar and Vina Lacerda.

(2015 to 2017) Conservatório de Música Popular de Curitiba. Took drum and percussion lessons with instructors such as Toni Antoniacomi, Vina Lacerda, and Luis Rolim. Took pandeiro workshops with Marcos Suzano, Celsinho Silva, Rafael Toledo, Nacho Delgado,  and Larissa Umaytá.

(2017) Oficina de percussão criativa com Caíto Marcondes, São Paulo. Took a workshop on creative percussion with renowned musician Caíto Marcondes.

(2017) IMPROFEST – International Improvisation and Sound Art Festival, São Paulo. Attended an international festival of free improvisation with renowned improvisers such as Otomo Yoshihide, Paulo Hartmann, Marco Scarassatti and Antonio Gianfratti. 

(2017) Oficina Música Circular, Jogos e Improvisação, Escola de Música e Belas Artes do Paraná. Took a workshop on body percussion, circular music, games, and improvisation with renowned body percussionist Ronaldo Crispim.

(2014) 2º Encontro Nacional da Canção Infantil, Curitiba . Attended workshops and performed his own compositions at a national festival of music for children.

(2014) XI Festival de Arte e Cultura Popular do Litoral Paranaense em Paranaguá . Performed with the percussion ensemble (Grupo de Percussão DeArtes) conducted by Márcio Szulak. 

(2000 to 2005) Conservatório Musical de Ponta Grossa. Took music theory and classical guitar lessons with musician Marcelo Teixeira.

(2017 up to now) Encontro de Pandeiros. Organizes a project that promotes workshops and interviews with renowned percussionists  for anyone who is interested in playing pandeiro (Brazilian frame drum).

(2009 up to now) English classes . Works as an English teacher for all ages adopting rhythmical and artistic approaches for effective learning. Currently works remotely for Phil Young’s English School in Curitiba, Brazil, and in person at Lancaster College in Bragança, Portugal.

Trio Sepé

Trio Sepé is a Brazilian music trio based in Curitiba. It is formed by accordionist Lucas Sequinel, guitar player Joaquim Lima, and percussionist Luam Clarindo. The trio’s repertoire includes instrumental music from Brazil and neighbouring countries, spanning a variety of genres such as choro, samba, forró, milonga, and chamamé. They also cover various composers including Sivuca, Altamiro Carrilho, Renato Borguetti and Gilberto Monteiro. The group’s name is a tribute to Sepé Tiaraju, an indigenous Guaraní leader.

 

 

Fole Variado

 

Folé Variado is a Brazilian group formed by accordionist Lucas Sequinel, guitar player Fernando Vahia and percussionists Leon Adan and Luam Clarindo. The group’s repertoire consists of forró pé-de-serra classic songs and instrumental music for Brazilian northeast button accordion (pé-de-bode) from renowned composers such as Januário, Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, Zé Calixto, Luizinho Calixto, Abdias, and Pedro Sertanejo. The group’s name pays tribute to the song “Botão Variado” by composer Bau dos Oito Baixos.
